Day 0 (March 14, 2015)

Brock’s 13th birthday! He got to open his present (a triceratops that honked) and was of course very excited to open a present. We headed out to the cabin for a couple of hours. We checked everything out, ate lunch, took a quick walk & Brock got to eat his Whoopie Pie (it IS Pi-day you know). Then we headed off to Hutchinson to meet Marlin & JoAnn , as they are dog-sitting for us.

We then drove to Bloomington to check into our “sleep , park & fly” hotel at the Mariott. Jim & Trina arrived a short time later. They’d driven up from Jim’s folks, where their boys were staying for the week.

We went over to the MOA for a few hours. We watched half the Iowa State basketball game from the Sky Deck Sports Grille & Lanes, then wandered about a little. We went to the Cadillac Ranch for supper and got to see Iowa win the game!

Then it was back to the hotel for an early night in as we had to catch a 5 am shuttle to the airport.
